AVident connects student pilots, certificated pilots, flight instructors, pilot examiners, mechanics, flight schools, and aircraft owners — so you can rent verified aircraft, book instruction, checkrides, and maintenance, find a contract pilot, keep your logbook current, and pay securely, all in one place.

AVident is a two-sided marketplace for the general aviation community in the United States. Members offer and book the following services through our iPhone app and web app:
Rent piston singles and other general aviation aircraft directly from their owners. Every listed aircraft is matched against the FAA registry and its ownership is verified before it can be booked. Renters must hold valid renter's insurance and be approved by the owner before flying. Owners set an availability calendar, can sync it with their own calendar app, and can pin their hangar so renters get turn-by-turn directions to the aircraft.
Priced per flight hour by the owner (typically $100–$300/hr, USD)
Find certificated flight instructors (CFIs) near you for primary training, checkouts, flight reviews, and endorsements. Every instructor's certificate is verified against the FAA airmen registry. Instructors publish their specialties, rates, and availability; lessons are scheduled and paid through the platform, and endorsements are issued digitally.
Hourly rate set by each instructor
Book practical tests with FAA Designated Pilot Examiners (DPEs). Examiners list the certificates and ratings they administer along with their fees, so applicants can find and schedule a checkride without phone tag.
Examiner fee set by each DPE
Find certificated mechanics (A&P/IA) by specialty, whether they work from a shop or come to your hangar. Mechanics publish their services and rates and are booked and paid through the platform. Owners keep digital airplane logs: maintenance records, squawks, inspection reminders, and a crew of trusted mechanics and instructors.
Per hour, per day, or flat fee — set by each mechanic
A directory of pilots available for contract flying and aircraft ferry flights, searchable by type ratings, aircraft, and location — for owners who need a qualified pilot for a repositioning flight, a delivery, or a shared trip. Pilots publish their services and rates and are booked through the platform like any other session.
Per hour, per day, or flat fee — set by each pilot
Schools run their fleet and instructors on AVident: multiple locations with their own rates, co-administrators, a private fleet for internal scheduling, and negotiated splits between the school and its instructors on marketplace bookings. Learn more.
Free — optional School Pro plan available
A full pilot logbook with currency and proficiency tracking, a globe of everywhere you've flown, and CSV import from ForeFlight, Garmin Pilot, MyFlightbook, and LogTen (and export back out). Digital endorsements per FAA AC 61-65, a credentials wallet, and your insurance records live alongside it.
Free for every member
Discover ranks aircraft, instructors, examiners, mechanics, and pilots by distance from where you are, with a browse map to explore what's nearby. The Lounge feed keeps you in touch with local pilots, and the flying-partner finder matches you with members looking to share time in the air.

Every booking runs through one schedule with availability calendars, two-way sync to your own calendar app, in-app messaging with the other party, and push notifications on iPhone for bookings, messages, and updates.

Joining AVident is free. We charge simple, transparent fees on paid bookings — there are no listing fees or hidden charges. The only subscription we offer is the optional School Pro plan for flight schools.
Payments are processed securely by Stripe. Your card details never touch our servers.
Browse aircraft near you on the map or in Discover. Every listing is matched against the FAA registry and its ownership is verified before it can be booked.
Upload proof of renter's insurance and complete the owner's approval or checkout requirements. Owners stay in control of who flies their aircraft, and can delegate approvals to their designated instructors.
When you book, a hold is placed on your card for the estimated cost. Once confirmed you get the owner's private rental instructions and directions to the aircraft. You're charged for the flight time recorded on the Hobbs (or tach) meter — minimum half the booked block — documented with photos at block-out and block-in. Owners set their own cancellation policy, and late cancellations or no-shows pay the owner.
After the flight, the final amount is captured and the owner is paid out automatically. Meter disputes are resolved before you're ever billed for a disputed amount.
Put your whole operation on AVident — your fleet, your instructors, your locations — and let students find and book you the same way they book everything else.
List every aircraft under the school with per-location rates. Add co-administrators for each location, and keep a private fleet for internal scheduling that never shows on the marketplace.
Bring your CFIs onto a roster and set a negotiated split between the school and each instructor. Payouts for marketplace bookings are divided automatically.
An optional monthly plan that waives AVident's 8% commission on all of the school's fleet bookings, so more of every booking stays with the school and its instructors. Pro schools also get their logo, photos, website, phone, and email on their public school page. See pricing for details.
AVident is built by pilots, for pilots. General aviation runs on trust, so we verify before anyone flies:
Every aircraft is matched against the FAA registry and its ownership confirmed before it can be booked — and rechecked each month against the registry.
Instructor and mechanic certificates are matched against the FAA airmen registry. Renters carry renter's insurance and are approved by the owner.
Meter readings are photographed at block-out and block-in, and any disagreement is resolved before a renter is billed.
Posts and photos are screened, and every member can report or block. Our team reviews reports and keeps the Lounge a place pilots want to be.
AVident is available on iPhone and on the web with one account. Sign-up is open to pilots, students, instructors, examiners, mechanics, aircraft owners, flight schools, dispatchers, and future pilots across the United States.
